Carter Gets Ready to Shift Gears at Pocono

Statesville, NC (June 5, 2008) ARCA RE/MAX series points runner up, Matt Carter and the No. 46 Stine Seed Ford Fusion team are switching gears and heading to the "Keystone State" this weekend to tackle the 2.5 mile triangle track at Pocono Speedway. Due to the unusual degree of turns and banking, the track has rightfully earned the name "The Tricky Triangle"; hence making shifting gears a requirement in order to tame the track. "Pocono is definitely different", said Carter. "It has three very distinct corners and a mile long straightaway. We can shift in the ARCA series which is something I have never done so that should be interesting."

The ARCA RE/MAX series and the Carter crew are coming off of a two week break and a series test at Michigan International Speedway - next weekend's scheduled stop for the series. "We have a new car we bought from Yates a few weeks ago", said Carter. "I don't think it has ever been raced; it was used primarily for testing. We did some work on the body and took it to Michigan last week and had a positive test. We were far better there than we had been at Kansas and Kentucky, so hopefully it will work at Pocono."

Carter carries momentum into this race from his first series victory at Toledo. The No. 46 Stine Seed Ford Fusion is scheduled to roll off pit road Saturday, June 7 at 1 pm EST for the Pocono 200. You can watch Carter take on the track in delayed time on SPEED at 10 pm EST.
