Bob Schacht Back Behind the Wheel at New JerseyMotorsports Park
(Mooresville, NC - 9/24/08) - ARCA RE/MAX Series veteran driver, owner and crew chief Bob Schacht will step down off the pit box this weekend and return to the driver's seat. Schacht will be at the wheel of his own road course prepared Ford for the Loud Energy Drink 150 at the New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, New Jersey.
Schacht, a native of Chicago, Illinois is no stranger to success in the ARCA RE/MAX Series in which he owns 19 career victories. A road course victory at the St. Louis International Raceway and a 2nd place finish at Heartland Park in Topeka, Kansas are what prompted Schacht to jump in the seat for this event.
Although Schacht has not competed in the ARCA RE/MAX Series as a driver for quite some time, that certainly does not mean he has been idling. Bob Schacht Motorsports has built, prepared and maintained cars for other drivers, teams and series and continues to do so with great success.
The September 28 Loud Energy Drink 150 will mark Schacht's 181st start in the ARCA RE/MAX Series and he will be a tough competitor as always.
"I'm really looking forward to getting back in the seat," said Schacht, "We've tested a few times on the road course over the past couple of years. I got behind the wheel a couple of different times and it felt good, I still have the driving bug and am still as competitive as ever, it's something you never lose."
Bob Schacht and the BSM team will have their familiar #75 Ford at New Jersey Motorsports Park on Friday September 26 for two practice sessions at 1:10 to 1: 40 PM and 3:00 to 4:30 PM. Sim Factory Pole qualifying is set to roll off at 2:15 PM on Saturday, September 27 following a morning practice session from 10:05 to 10:35 AM.
The Loud Energy Drink 150 is scheduled to take the green at 1:00 PM on Sunday, September 28 with television coverage on MavTV and tape delayed coverage on MASN.
