Alli Owens Ready for Road Course Return
* The New Jersey Motorsports Park 150 will mark Owens second ARCA RE/MAX road course start
* Owens' previous road course start came at New Jersey Motorsports Park last season, which she started 27th and finished 27th
* D'Hondt Motorsports is no stranger to road course racing. DMS fielded Kyle Busch's Nationwide car at Watkins Glen in 2008, which Busch piloted to a second'place finish
Alli Owens Comments on New Jersey Motorsports Park:
"I'm excited to go road course racing. I've spent all season making left hand turns. It's about time we turn the steering wheel to the right. It's a lot of fun and I made a lot of strides as a driver last year, so I'm really excited about returning to New Jersey. D'Hondt Motorsports has a great road course program. Kyle (Busch) came in second'place at Watkins Glen in a DMS car, so I'm confident that I'll be in top notch equipment for this race.
"I learned road course racing at Sebring (International Raceway). It helped me fine tune my shifting skills. I'm good at coming up through the gears and downshifting. The hardest aspect for me was learning the braking points of the track. The downforce of a stock car makes me think that I can drive into a turn deeper than it's capable of, which makes it easy to spin out. My heel/toe techniques could use some polishing as well, so I'll spend a few laps at New Jersey getting reacquainted with the track and brushing up my skills.
"Half of the challenge at a road course is keeping your car on the pavement. It's easy to slide off the track. I got off course last year and got stuck in the mud. But if you can keep all four tires on the asphalt for the entire race, you'll end up having a good finish.
"This week we have I.B.E.W. Local Unions 98 and 351 on our car. I'm thrilled that they're participating in our race program. I'll do all I can to give them a good ride at New Jersey."
