Flagstar renews race sponsorship and honors Father's Day with special promotion.
BROOKLYN, Mich. -- Flagstar Bank will once again be the title sponsor of the ARCA RE/MAX Series Flagstar 200 at Michigan International Speedway, officials at both companies announced today. This will mark the fourth year that the Troy, Michigan based Flagstar Bank will be the title sponsor.
The Flagstar 200 on Saturday, June 14, will be part of the season-opening Father's Day weekend action at the two-mile superspeedway in Michigan's Irish Hills.
"Flagstar Bank has enjoyed a tremendous relationship with MIS and the ARCA RE/MAX Series and we're excited to continue our sponsorship of the Flagstar 200 and as the Official Bank of MIS," said Gary Burkart, First Vice President & National Advertising Manager. "The Flagstar 200 has witnessed some sensational racing, whether it was Kerry Earnhardt's emotional victory in 2001, or last year's exciting finish giving Chad Blount his first career ARCA RE/MAX Series victory. We couldn't ask for anything better and know it will continue."
"We're proud to continue our relationship with a strong Detroit-based company which has a customer base that is quite similar to ours," said Keith Karbo, MIS Director of Marketing. "Flagstar has been a loyal partner for the past four years and we hope that we will continue the partnership for years to come."
Flagstar Bank will celebrate Father's Day this year with a special Flagstar 200 promotion. Customers can visit any Flagstar location or www.flagstar.com, and enter to win an opportunity to treat their Father to a special VIP day at MIS. One lucky fan and their Father will be able to participate in all pre and post race activities surrounding the Flagstar 200 on June 14. They will receive a package that includes attending the driver's meeting, waiving the green flag to start the Flagstar 200 and receive a check for $1,000 during pre-race ceremonies.
In last year's Flagstar 200, Chad Blount, then a 22-year-old rookie, looked like anything but, pulling off a bold 3-wide pass with less than three laps remaining en route to his first career victory. This year, fans will be closely watching another young rookie. This time it's 18-year-old Kyle Busch, the younger brother of NASCAR Winston Cup star Kurt Busch, who recently announced he would compete in a limited ARCA and Busch schedule, which includes running the Flagstar 200 for long-time NASCAR owner Rick Hendrick.
Seats still remain for all events at MIS this season, including the season-opening Flagstar 200 on Father's Day weekend. For ticket information, visit MIS' official website, www.MISpeedway.com, or call the MIS ticket hotline at (800) 354-1010.
