ARCA RE/MAX Series Visits Hometown Superspeedway

BROOKLYN MI (6-7-05) A full field of ARCA RE/MAX Series competitors will roar into Michigan International Speedway June 15-17, 2005, for the Hantz Group 200.

Located just one hour away from ARCA RE/MAX Series Headquarters, Michigan International Speedway has long been considered ARCA's hometown superspeedway. The Friday evening event marks the 22nd ARCA RE/MAX Series appearance at the 2-mile paved oval.

In 2004, ARCA RE/MAX Series rookie Reed Sorenson dominated the event, winning the race in only his second series start. Sorenson's was just eighteen years old at the time, making him the youngest driver to ever win at Michigan International Speedway.

Other past winners at MIS include Casey Mears (2003), Chad Blount (2002), Blaise Alexander (2001), Kerry Earnhardt (2001) and Tim Steele (2000, 1997, 1996). Joe Ruttman won the inaugural event in 1980.

ARCA RE/MAX Series garages and registration open Wednesday, June 15, at 10am, with ARCA RE/MAX Series practice and Pork Pole qualifying taking place on Thursday. The start of the Hantz Group 200 at Michigan International Speedway is scheduled for 5:15pm on Friday, June 17th.

Tickets for the entire Michigan International Speedway season, including the ARCA RE/MAX Series Hantz Group 200, are available online at www.misspeedway.com.
