ARCA RE/MAX Series Heads Home to MIS for Hantz Group 200

BROOKLYN MI (5-18-05) A full field of ARCA RE/MAX Series competitors will roar into Michigan International Speedway June 15-17, 2005, for the Hantz Group 200.

Located just one hour away from ARCA headquarters in Temperance, Michigan, MIS has long been considered ARCA's hometown superspeedway. The Friday afternoon race marks the 22nd RE/MAX Series appearance at the 2-mile paved oval.

In 2004, RE/MAX Series rookie Reed Sorenson dominated the event, winning the race in only his second series start. Sorenson was just eighteen years old at the time, making him the youngest driver to ever win at MIS.

Other RE/MAX Series past winners at MIS include Casey Mears (2003), Chad Blount (2002), Blaise Alexander (2001), Kerry Earnhardt (2001) and Tim Steele (2000, 1997, 1996). Joe Ruttman won the inaugural event in 1980.

The Hantz Group 200 is part of a very busy Friday afternoon at MIS, which also includes practice for the NASCAR Nextel Cup and Craftsman Truck Series, both of which race on the same weekend.

ARCA RE/MAX Series garages and registration open Wednesday, June 15, at 10am, with practice and Pork Pole qualifying taking place on Thursday at 3pm. Friday's Hantz Group 200 is LIVE on SPEED Channel at 5pm.

Tickets for the entire Michigan International Speedway season, including the ARCA RE/MAX Series Hantz Group 200, are available online at www.misspeedway.com.
