Michel Disdier Continues with Strong Finish at Michigan
BROOKLYN, Michigan -- Following a solid finish at Toledo Speedway, Michel Disdier continued with a strong 18th place finish at Michigan International Speedway. The two-mile oval was the site for Friday's ARCA RE/MAX Racing for Wildlife 200.
Once again, Mother Nature was uncooperative with the race teams on Thursday. The pelting rain forced Thursday's ARCA RE/MAX Series Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell to be cancelled. The starting grid for Friday's race was set by current ARCA RE/MAX Series car owner points. The race teams had an opportunity to get on the track Friday morning for a short 50-minute practice.
"I was really hoping that the rain would hold off and we would get the opportunity to qualify and show what we have!" said Disdier.
When the green flag dropped, Disdier was focused and determined to charge his way to the front of the field. Despite a 33rd starting position, Disdier started the race with strong momentum ripping through the field, picking up 7 positions in the first two laps.
After making a flawless trip down pit road for tires, gas and track bar adjustment on lap 54, the Ford Taurus Bowsher Motorsports No. 21 car seemed to handle a little better for Disdier. During this intense race, Disdier managed to avoid many wrecks to cross the finish line in a strong 18th place finish.
"I'm really excited and hope to keep the momentum rolling this weekend," said Disdier. b^0x001cI think we really have the potential for a good run."
Michel Disdier and the Bowsher Motorsports team are excited to race in the Tim Richmond Memorial ARCA 200 this weekend. This event is scheduled to start at 8:30 pm on Saturday, June 20th at Mansfield Motorsports Park.
