Brownsburg, IN (June 12, 2002) -- Brownsburg, Indiana native Matt Hagans will make his ARCA RE/MAX Series Super Speedway debut this Sunday in the Flagstar 200 at Michigan International Speedway. It will be Hagans second career ARCA RE/MAX Series start, Hagans competed earlier in the season in the April 28th Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA 200 at Salem Speedway. Hagans had a very respectable fifth place finish at Salem Speedway, Hagans hopes to have the same type of finish Saturday.

"I have very little Super Speedway experience," explained Hagans. "We had a very successful test here last month, I felt really comfortable in the car and with the speed difference compared to a short track. The Braun Racing Team is providing me a great car that has the potential to run up front. I think it's exciting to be in one of only two Dodges competing in the Flagstar 200 this weekend."

The other Dodge will be driven by Hagans team mate Chad Blount, currently third in series points and leading the rookie of the year points. Both cars are former Chip Gannasi owned NASCAR Winston Cup cars. Hagans will have an Ernie Elliot engine powering his number 78 Dodge Intrepid on Saturday.

Hagans will have veteran ARCA RE/MAX Series Crew Chief Tom Sokoloski turning wrenches on the car this weekend. Sokoloski was the Crew Chief for former ARCA RE/MAX Series Champion Tim Steele, and crewed Hagans effort at Salem Speedway.

"Tom did a great job for us at Salem Speedway in April," commented Hagans. "He helped Tim Steele win three races at Michigan International Speedway, I am confidant he will help get us to the front this weekend!"

Hagans is currently second in championship points with the Indiana based Sunoco Super Series, in six starts this season he has 3 top five finishes and 5 top ten finishes. Hagans has plans to compete in two additional ARCA RE/MAX Series events this season. He will compete at Winchester Speedway on August 31 and at Salem Speedway on September 15.

The Dodge Intrepid Hagans will race this weekend will carry sponsorship from Eagle Creek Aviation Services, and 1st Wing Aviation Management.
