Bob Schacht Motorsports Headed to MIS with Chuck Walker at the Helm
(Brooklyn, MI -- 6/10/09) -- Following a less than stellar performance at the Pocono Raceway last weekend due to a fuel pump issue, the Bob Schacht Motorsports team and driver Chuck Walker are hoping for a more desirable finish at the Michigan International Speedway on Friday.
"There was definitely something amiss with the car at Pocono." said owner Bob Schacht. "We couldn't seem to get a handle on it at the track but we did find the problem at the chassis dyno yesterday and we're good to go for this weekend at MIS."
Although Chuck Walker and the #75 team only completed twelve laps at Pocono and were credited with the thirty third finishing position, they feel confident that the two mile Michigan International Speedway will produce better results. Past experience at the Brooklyn, MI track has garnered strong finishes for the Bob Schacht Motorsports team with several different drivers in the cockpit, including Schacht himself who is credited with two pole qualifying records there.
"I feel really good about this race at MIS." said driver Chuck Walker. "Bob's record here and at any track really speaks for itself and I'm excited to be racing at Michigan this week."
Chuck Walker and the BSM team will have their Ford Fusion on track at Michigan International Speedway on Thursday for a practice session from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, with pole qualifying at 3:00 PM. The green flag will wave on the Racing for Wildlife 200 at 5:15 PM on Friday June, 12, live on SPEED.
