On Tap this Week - Lake Erie Speedway

The ARCA RE/MAX series rolls into Lake Erie Speedway this Saturday, July 12th for the running of the Hamot and Siemens 200 set to begin approximately 9:00 pm Eastern.

After rain postponed last week's event, Jarrett is anxious to get back on track, and particularly ready to do some short-track racing.

"We always seem to run well, places like Toledo and Salem, so I'm really looking forward to our first-ever race at Lake Erie Speedway," said Jarrett. "With the track being less than half a mile in length, it'll be fast, and we'll have to quickly figure out the best places to pass. When you're racing on a short-track, you have to stay on top of your game right from the start; be one of the leaders, and not get a lap down."

"If we make smart decisions in the pits, and the ML Motorsports over-the- wall crew continues to give us good stops, I feel we have a good shot at winning this race - and that's my plan; to win this race," added Jarrett.

This is the first event for the ARCA RE/MAX Series at Lake Erie Speedway. The track is located in North East, Pennsylvania in the Western portion of the state. The weekend is jammed with racing excitement with the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series set to take the track on Friday night to open the weekend's activities. On Saturday, ARCA RE/MAX qualifying is set to begin at 5:00 pm with the 200 lap-80 mile race beginning at 9:00 p.m. Local racing is on tap as well.

Reports from those who've visited this track, say this is a well-laid out, state-of-the art facility in a scenic setting, and if you're in just the right spot, you can see the distant shores of Lake Erie. A pre-race, at- track autograph session with ARCA RE/MAX Series drivers is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. to give fans an opportunity to meet their favorite drivers.

Jarrett, currently second in Series points, is the driver of the #67 ML Motorsports Biomet/Damon Motorcoach sponsored Pontiac Grand Prix. Jason is also a member of the Coca-Cola Racing Family.
