Passmore Looking to Continue Climb in Points at Lake Erie Speedway: Christi Passmore had something of a rough start to the 2004 ARCA RE/MAX Series season. In the first seven events, the No. 91 G.A.P. Roofing / Asphalt & Fuel Supply Ford earned only two top ten finishes. But over the past seven events, she has earned five top ten finishes. This weekend Passmore will compete in the ARCA 200 at the Lake Erie Speedway looking to continue her successful streak of top ten finishes and continue her climb in championship points in the ARCA RE/MAX Series.
"This has been a roller coaster season," said Passmore. "But lately we have been at the top of the hill. Our season did not start off badly concerning how we were running, but our finishes were not reflective of the strength we had. Now we seem to be on the up side of the season and moving up through the points each weekend."
In the 2003 season, Passmore earned a tenth place finish at the .4-mile paved oval following a two-day test session where she was able to get a strong feel for the race track. With the 2004 season on the right track, Passmore once again tested at the Lake Erie Speedway in preparation for this weekend's event. Following her sixth place finish at Pocono, Passmore moved into the eighth place in series points and hopes that a solid finish at Lake Erie could propel her into the seventh position prior to next weekend's event at the Nashville Superspeedway.
"Lake Erie is one of those tracks that we have tested at quite a bit," said Passmore. "It is a really tight little race track and when all the cars got out there last season, there was not a lot of room. We feel like we have a pretty good handle on the track and if we can keep all the fenders attached at the end of the event then I think we can leave there with another top ten finish."
The ARCA 200 will take the green flag at 8:00pm ET on Saturday, August 7 at the Lake Erie Speedway in Lake Erie, Pennsylvania.
Passmore One of the Fastest at Nashville Testing: On Monday of this week, Passmore along with numerous ARCA RE/MAX Series competitors tested at the Nashville Superspeedway in preparation for next weekend's event. Passmore posted the second fastest time of the afternoon at a 31.170-second lap. Earlier this season Passmore qualified fourth at Nashville and ran in the top-three before an engine failure ended her evening. The Nashville event will be carried Live on Speed Channel on Saturday, August 14 at 2:00pm ET.
