May 4, 2004 (Mooresville, North Carolina) -- Ryan Hemphill may be a rookie in the ARCA RE/MAX Series but his success thus far mirrors that of a wily veteran. The 22 year old has been mighty impressive in his first two speedway events this season and this translates into a high level of confidence. Hemphill will take this confidence along with his #64 Dodge to the Kentucky Speedway this weekend for the running of The Channel 5-205.

"I really do expect some great things this weekend," said Hemphill. "I learn more and more with each race and this team is coming together better each time out. We will be racing the same car we did at Nashville and the repairs to the body should actually make it even a little better than before. This entire program with Braun Racing is very strong and my crew chief (Greg Tester) is putting together great cars for me. I think this will all show again this weekend at Kentucky."

Hemphill is coming off a dominating performance at Nashville last month where he set a new track record in qualifying and led 73 of the 113 laps before a late race encounter with a lap car relegated him to a disappointing 15th place finish. "No doubt we were disappointed in not winning the race at Nashville," stated Ryan. "But at the same time we were very happy with the overall performance of the team as the guys worked very hard to give me an awesome car. I definitely learned a lot from that race and I look to put those experiences to use as the season progresses."

Ryan and his #64 Dodge will also be joined again with sponsorship from TrimSpa. The Chip Ganassi developmental driver and the Cedar Knolls, New Jersey company teamed up for the Nashville event and expectations are for a repeat performance at the 1.5 mile facility in Sparta, Kentucky.

Hemphill currently is scheduled to compete in all 13 of the ARCA RE/MAX Series superspeedway events and compete for the Rookie of the Year honor while adding in a select few short track events.

The green flag for the running of the 137 laps of The Channel 5 -205 is scheduled to wave at 8:00 p.m. EST with LIVE coverage on SPEED CHANNEL.
