Allgaier Aims to Continue Resurgence

Justin Allgaier aims to continue his resurgence this week at the Kentucky Speedway for the running of the Channel 5-150 ARCA RE/MAX Series event. Allgaier, who had a couple of bad races, dropped back to the fourth place position in 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series Championship points, but is battling back after a fifth place finish last week at the Berlin Raceway.

Allgaier has four previous ARCA RE/MAX Series and one NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series starts at the 1.5-mile tri-oval in Sparta, Kentucky. Allgaier started 13th and finished 10th in May of this year but his best start of sixth and his best finish of fourth both came in the spring 2006 ARCA event.

"I've had some up and down luck in Kentucky," Allgaier said. "I did really well in the spring race last year and this year as well, but last July I had horrible luck in both the ARCA car and the Craftsman Truck. We've been working hard on our program hoping to get noticed by some potential teams and sponsors. I'm just hoping that Friday the 13th is a lucky day, not an unlucky day. Kentucky Speedway is known for its great side-by-side racing. You can race the top or the bottom of the track, although I think the preferred line is the bottom. Wherever you are on the track, it is always an exciting race for both the drivers and the fans alike."

The Channel 5-150, which ironically is the 13th race of the ARCA RE/MAX Series, is slated to begin at 8:00pm ET at the Kentucky Speedway Friday, July 13 and will be televised live on SPEED also beginning at 8:00pm ET.
