"Rookie Seeks Third Consecutive Speedway Win"

June 1, 2004 (Mooresville, North Carolina) -- Coming off a dramatic win at the Lowe's Motor Speedway last Thursday evening, ARCA RE/MAX Series rookie Ryan Hemphill heads to the heartland of America looking for further success. Hemphill and his #64 TRIMSPA DODGE head to the Kansas Speedway for the running of the Kansas Lottery $200 Grand.

"With the way this season is going I am anxious to go to each and every race," said Ryan. "This week is special because this will be my first visit to the Kansas Speedway. All of the other tracks we have raced on this year I have been to either testing or racing, so this is the first week going into a race totally blind. I have heard so much from other people about the track and they all talk about how nice and smooth it is. I am sure my guys on this Braun Racing team will give me a good car once again and hopefully we will get in another good run."

Hemphill and his TRIMSPA DODGE have set a blistering pace in the 5 races he has competed in this season. In impressive fashion, the 22-year-old rookie has garnered two Pork Pole Awards along with a track record at Nashville -- all to go along with two visits to victory lane (Kentucky & Lowe's).

The Apollo, Pennsylvania native will also be gunning for his third consecutive victory in a speedway event in the ARCA RE/MAX Series.

"We are taking the same car we have won the last two races with," stated Hemphill. "It has turned out to be a very good car for us. It is a former Chip Ganassi Racing DODGE that came out of the stable of cars for Sterling Marlin. We have battled with it at times but this car just seems to get better each time we run it. The guys always tune it just right for me and Ernie Elliott just gives us tremendous horsepower under the hood of this machine. We look forward to another strong run at our first visit to Kansas."

Ryan and his Braun Racing team will also be joined in Kansas with a partnership with the Hilton-Garden Inn Kansas City. The 148 room property is located in the Kansas City, Kansas business district.

The green flag for the running of the 200 mile event is scheduled to wave at 3:00 p.m. CST.
