Dexter Bean, BlackJack Racing, No. 6 Five Star Telecom Chevrolet Monte Carlo
Race Information: Event: Kansas Lottery $150 Grand, Friday, April 27, at 4:00 p.m. Local Time Track: Kansas Speedway Qualifying: Friday, April 27 at 12:45 p.m. Local Time; Track Length: 1.5-mile paved oval.
Salem Recap: In his third ever start at Salem Speedway, Bean just missed his second straight pole at the half-mile short track starting the event from the second position. The race proved to be just as exciting as his attempted pole run. Bean led 30 laps last Sunday en route to a career best second place finish behind race winner Brian Keselowski.
Rewinding Back: The 2006 ARCA RE/MAX Series event at Kansas Speedway appeared to be one of Bean's best chances to score his first career ARCA victory, unfortunately bad luck overruled. After starting 11th, Bean mastered his way into contention but battery problems hindered the gallant effort forcing a disappointing 28th place finish.
Points Chase: With his breathtaking run at Salem Speedway, Bean propelled himself again jumping to fourth in ARS driver standings sitting 30 markers from third place contender Phillip McGilton and 105 points from the top spot.
Chassis Information: The BlackJack Racing team will bring the same Chevrolet Monte Carlo the team nailed a ninth place finish with earlier this month at Nashville Superspeedway. This automobile is also the same car that Bean propelled to top-five efforts at Pocono Raceway and Chicagoland Speedway last season. It has proven time and time again to be one of the strongest cars in the BlackJack Racing's stable.
Welcome Back: Five Star Telecom, a longtime racing supporter of BlackJack Racing will step up and return as an associate sponsor this weekend at Kansas. Since their beginning in 1973, FST (Five Star Telecom), a long-time supporter of Bean's racing career has become one of the largest interconnect companies in the Upper Midwest, with multiple locations serving the tri-state area.
Meet & Greet: Dexter Bean will be signing autographs at the Legends at Village West, a shopping facility located directly adjacent to Kansas Speedway this Thursday, April 26 from 6:00-8:00pm local time.
Jump Aboard: BlackJack Racing still has several openings on their No. 6 Chevrolet Monte Carlo for the third event on the ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. Immediate one race or long term sponsorship positions are available. Contact the team today and be a part of the action.
BlackJack Racing, Kansas Speedway Pre-Race Quotes:
Dexter Bean, driver of the No. 6 Five Star Telecom Chevrolet Monte Carlo:
On Salem: "I feel great and so does the team. Salem was absolutely awesome and blows the fall race last year out of the water. We had a great car all day long, just didn't have enough for Brian Keselowski on the long runs. My BlackJack Racing crew was awesome all weekend long! We're going for the win when we go back there in September and everyone better be ready."
On Kansas Speedway: "I like Kansas Speedway. It's a track with the same characteristics of Kentucky Speedway, which is another track I enjoy tackling. We had a great run going here last year but it was spoiled with some bad luck. We're bringing one of my favorite cars, so I am looking forward to taking the green flag on Friday afternoon."
On Points Chase: "We're moving up and that's our goal. I cannot believe that we're in the chase for this championship, but it's a good thing. I'm looking forward to being a championship contender all season long. We have to keep doing what we were doing though. Finish races, be smart, patient and log laps. Toledo is still a long ways away but we have the early season momentum to keep us in the hunt."
On Traveling From Wisconsin All Season: "It's a lot of driving no doubt about that. I have a great bunch of dedicated guys and some great volunteers. They all want to see our No. 6 up front and be a threat for victory each and every week. That means a lot. I'm glad we're operating our team from Wisconsin, it truly doesn't get any better than this."
