Allgaier to Debut Denver at Gateway
St. Louis, MO (July 26, 2006) -Justin Allgaier heads to the Gateway International Raceway this weekend hoping to debut a brand new race car for the running of the Shop 'n Save 150 ARCA RE/MAX Series event.
Allgaier and the team which includes his dad Mike Allgaier (Gator) have been working day and night to prepare the 2006 Mach 1 Motorsports Monte Carlo chassis to be race ready by Friday's event. Allgaier himself has spent countless hours getting the wiring systems ready and preparing for the engine to be mounted.
"I'm really excited about bringing this car out this week," Allgaier said. "We started the other day with just a body and a chassis and we've gotten an unbelievable amount accomplished in just a few short days. We have such a limited budget and each one of these guys on this team puts everything they have into building these race cars. We buy everything used to save on money and put it together ourselves which has been awesome because the cars are really good. I am crossing my fingers to be able to debut "Denver". It is a great looking car and hope that it brings us some good luck. If we can't get the car ready in time we will bring out "Gator" the car that has been a consistent car for us over the past two seasons."
Allgaier finished a disappointing 19th place after qualifying third for the Pocono ARCA RE/MAX race last weekend. He was able to maintain a top-ten track position all day but bad luck struck when the left front tire blew twice within ten laps at the end of the event.
"We've been struggling all season with up and down finishes," Allgaier said. "If it could happen it seems to be happening to us. The monkey on my back is definitely not helping our finishes and I'd really like him to leave any time now. My goal is to go into Gateway and improve on our two previous finishes at the track. I want to try to gain some consistency from week to week and hopefully bring home a win for these guys that have put in so much time getting us ready to race every week."
Allgaier who is now 13th in ARCA RE/MAX Series points has two previous starts at the Gateway International Raceway with impressive qualifying positions but mechanical failure and accidents have kept him out of the top-ten when the checkered flag fell on the races.
The ARCA RE/MAX Series drivers take to the track Friday, July 29, 2006 at 9:00pm ET for the start of the Shop 'n Save 150. The event will be televised live on SPEED beginning at 9:00pm ET.
