ALLGAIER TO MAKE BERLIN DEBUT
Marne, Michigan (July 11, 2006) - Justin Allgaier comes off two consecutive weekends of double duty in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck and the ARCA RE/MAX Series to settle back in for the next round of ARCA races beginning this Saturday, July 15, 2006. Allgaier will be making his first trip to the Berlin Raceway for the running of the Sara Lee/GFS Marketplace 200 at the famed 7/16-mile short track in Marne, Michigan.
"I've heard a lot about Berlin," Justin Allgaier said. "It is a tiny short track near Grand Rapids, Michigan where it is true grassroots racing. I'm really looking forward to that. The way our luck has been the past few weeks, my goal is to keep the car on the track and not in the pine trees. I understand there is no wall on the backstretch, so I'll be sure to feel the car out in practice to make sure I don't go over the edge."
Allgaier is happy to be back on a short track after being on speedway tracks for the past few events. Allgaier's background is in Late Models and Midget cars which primarily run on short tracks so his experience should carry through to this weekends ARCA RE/MAX event.
"Our short track program has been pretty good all season so I think we'll be ok for this race," Allgaier said. "I'd like nothing more then to have a solid performance for the team and our sponsors. We are on a streak of several races in a row and I'm hoping to shed the monkey on my back this weekend. We've taken a hit in both Rookie of the Year and the overall points race. With 13 events left, we have time but need to really perform week in and week out to repair our deficit and get back into the top-ten."
