ARCA RE/MAX Series driver Jason Jarrett will visit the New Egypt Elementary School on Wednesday, June 4th to participate in the celebration of the school's Race to Read program.

Jarrett became involved in the program in earlier this year, and made a commitment to visit the school in an effort to motivate and encourage students as they participated in the National Educational Association's "Read Across America" program.

Student classes competed in reading by logging the number of books read. Each class was represented by a team racecar that fought for position on the schools virtual racetrack. Jarrett is set to arrive at the school at 10:00 a.m. to drop the checkered flag, and celebrate the day with all the children who participated.

"I'm really looking forward to meeting the kids and seeing how much they've accomplished," said Jarrett. "I always try to encourage and help kids whenever I can, and I feel honored to have been asked to participate."

Jarrett, the son of the NASCAR Winston Cup Champion Dale Jarrett, and grandson of two time Champion Ned Jarrett, will visit the school prior to taking to the track at Pocono Raceway where he will compete in the Giant 200 on Saturday, June 7th.

Jason Jarrett is the driver of the #67 Biomet/Damon RV sponsored ML Motorsports Chevrolet Monte Carlo and is also a member of the Coca-Cola Racing Family.
