KALAMAZOO, MICHIGAN (TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 3, 2004) - - ARCA RE/MAX Series driver Jim Hollenbeck has received an early win this season, as he has come to an agreement with EAS to sponsor his No. 83 Ford Taurus.
The sponsorship from EAS, a Golden, Colo.-based company that inspires people to live a healthier lifestyle through better nutrition and exercise, will be a welcome addition to the Hollenbeck Motorsports team. EAS sells a wide variety of sports nutrition supplements, ranging from the athlete-focused Myoplex line to the mass market AdvantEdge products.
Hollenbeck, a second-generation driver, will race as a teammate to Ohio ARCA driver Greg Sarff. The duo worked together last season at Berlin Raceway, where Hollenbeck returned to the series after a hiatus, and pulled together a solid finish in his first start of the season. Hollenbeck returned to the series later in the year at Springfield, where he reeled in a career best finish of 15th, with guidance from Sarff, and ever-lasting ARCA veteran James Hylton.
Jim Hollenbeck is scheduled to make his first appearance of 2004 in ARCA's second event of the season from Nashville Superspeedway. In addition to Hollenbeck sporting new backers, he will also unveil a flashy Ford Taurus, purchased from ARCA driver Willie Green.
The rest of Hollenbeck Motorsport schedules include both short track events at Toledo Speedway and the bullring of Berlin Raceway. Also included will be races at the speedway events of Michigan International Speedway and Chicagoland Speedway.
"Heading into an ARCA season, I don't feel we have ever been more prepared," stated driver Jim Hollenbeck. "We've signed on a sponsor (EAS) and I cannot say enough about them, their enthusiasm towards our team and the ARCA RE/MAX Series is priceless. We are also continuing to talk and search for co-primary, and associate sponsors which would allow us to add to our schedule."
The 29-year old driver will debut his new 2003 Ford Taurus, purchased from NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series team, Wood Brothers Racing, at their first short track event of Toledo Speedway. "We have great equipment behind us this year, and I feel I have the knowledge both in and outside of the car, which will allow us to run upfront this season," he continued.
The team will also use Ernie Elliott engines this season. "We have a spectacular engine program this year, the name is familiar, and the horsepower is there, I cannot wait for Nashville," boasted Hollenbeck.
Joining EAS on the No. 83 Ford Taurus will be Hollenbeck's construction company, Spectra Contracting, Inc. Spectra Contracting, Inc., which operates in several states throughout the United States, served as the primary sponsor last season.
In addition, Hollenbeck Motorsports will have association with The University of Northwestern Ohio Race Club this year. "I've heard a lot of great things about this program, and I'm excited about having the opportunity to work these talented students," he added.
