Anderson, Ind. (May 29, 2002) -- 20-year-old Greg Van Alst will be making his ARCA RE/MAX Series debut in the Jasper Engines & Transmissions 200 at Toledo Speedway on Sunday June 23, 2002. Van Alst will be driving the Locke Motorsports #01 Robert Locke Concrete, Shelby Materials Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

Van Alst of Anderson, Ind., is currently racing in the CRA Sunoco Super Series. His plans are to run the remainder of the Sunoco Super Series on a limited schedule, and run several ARCA events starting with Toledo. Van Alst finished 23rd out of 98 competitors in the 2001 drivers points, after running a limited schedule due to financial situations, in the Sunoco Series.

Locke Motorsports plans on running several of the remaining events and hopes to pick up primary sponsorship to do the entire 2003 ARCA schedule. The goals for the races this season are to finish races and gain as much experience as they can for their run at Rookie of the Year honors next season. Locke Motorsports has competed in two events already this year, Nashville and Kentucky.

Locke Motorsports is based out of Beech Grove, Ind., and is owned by Robert Locke. Crew Chief for the team is Rick Locke. The crew consists of family members and friends from the Locke family, and will be adding new members from the Van Alst family.
