Kimmel Set for Berlin Where His Track Record is Nothing Short of Spectacular: Frank Kimmel's accomplishments in the ARCA RE/MAX Series are impressive no matter where you look, from his seven series championships to his 66 ARCA RE/MAX Series career wins. But one of the race tracks where Kimmel has earned one of his most impressive records comes at the 7/16-mile race track of Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan. In his seven starts at the raceway, Kimmel has never started outside the top-ten and has never finished outside the top-five. He has earned three ARCA RE/MAX Series wins at the speedway and one pole position. This weekend Kimmel and the rest of the ARCA RE/MAX Series competitors will head back to Berlin Raceway with Kimmel behind the wheel of his favorite No. 46 Pork Fusion named 'Daisy'.
"I always look forward to racing at Berlin," said Kimmel. "This is one of the greatest short tracks that we visit and I have always done pretty well when we come up here, but this is definitely not one of the easiest race tracks that we compete on. It is a true bull-ring of a race track and I think the ARCA cars put on a great race for all of the Michigan race fans that come out to see us every year. We are also bringing one of my favorite and most successful cars, Daisy. We raced her at Winchester when we won and Toledo where we won the pole and led most of the laps earlier this season. After a couple weeks of speedways and a couple more after this weekend, it is a lot of fun to break it up with a neat little short track."
With ten races in the books on this 2006 ARCA RE/MAX Series season, Kimmel finds himself second in the championship points standings trailing Bobby Gerhart by only 55 points following his second place finish at the Kentucky Speedway last weekend. In the first ten events, Kimmel has earned one Pork pole award and two wins.
"Our Pork Racing team has not had the season we were hoping for to this point," said Kimmel. "But I think we have started to turn things around with the win at Kansas and then the second place finish at Kentucky. We are all hoping to keep that same momentum as we head to Berlin this weekend because as we are in the middle of this five-race stretch, it would be great to get the ARCA RE/MAX Series point lead back."
The Sara Lee/GFS Marketplace 200 is scheduled to take the green flag at 8:30pm ET at the Berlin Raceway.
