Bean Takes a Second Shot at a Dirt Track at DuQuoin
After a disappointing 32nd place finish at the Allen Crowe Memorial 100 on the Illinois State Fairgrounds dirt track, Dexter and Team GLOCK would like to move ahead in points as the season winds down to six remaining races. They will race on the one mile clay track in the Southern Illinois 100 at DuQuoin State Fairgrounds in the ARCA RE/MAX Series on Monday, September 1st.
Dexter has had a busy week after the Illinois dirt track event at the Fairgrounds. He made appearances at his home state of Wisconsin at the Vernon County Sheriff's Department and the LaCrosse County Police Department. Following that, the #37 show car and he joined GLOCK, Inc. in their booth at the Great Outdoors Festival in Oshkosh, WI along with R. Lee Ermey, star of the hit series MAIL CALL and spokesperson for GLOCK, Inc. The duo signed autographs and greeted attendees of the Great Outdoors Festival.
Team GLOCK is anxious to make the most out of a season filled with its ups and downs. Team owner, Jeff Spraker and his crew at Spraker Racing Enterprises have been making preparations for the Labor Day Weekend. "We are heading to DuQuoin with high hopes for a great finish. We are bringing the same car that Dexter ran at Springfield where he was one of four drivers to break the track record in qualifying. We have put in some long hours these past couple of weeks preparing cars for the September events and we have installed a fresh engine in the DuQuoin car. Dexter really has a feel for these dirt tracks, so we're ready to put the Team GLOCK Chevy up front on Monday."
Dexter is also excited to get back to the one mile dirt track in the 011 GLOCK chassis after a couple weeks break from the racing scene. "DuQuoin is a lot like Springfield. I've ran well there in the past and was even leading the race back in 2006 when my motor blew up. I definitely like racing there - I like the challenge that the dirt gives. We had a good car at Springfield and will be bringing that same one to DuQuoin. We can win this weekend. We have had a lot of bad luck, but we are keeping our heads up and looking forward to each race." st Events will begin on Monday, September 1 with practice from 9 10am. SIM Factory Pole Qualifying is scheduled to begin at 11am and the race is planned for 1pm (100 laps, 100 miles).
