Roush quotes for February 10th
"The car wasn't as fast as we ran in testing a few weeks ago here in Daytona, but I think after both practice sessions today we found the extra speed we were looking for in our No. 26 Crown Royal Ford Fusion. Tomorrow in qualifying, I think we will run a 48.45. I don't know where that will put us on the board, but it should be a pretty good time."
"We pretty much knew what we had and there were no surprises today. The car was the same as in testing and works really well in the draft - not that you could tell that today. You won't be able to tell too much by qualifying tomorrow either, but hopefully we'll be able to turn a good lap, at least better than last year, and be able to start near the front on Thursday at the Gatorade Duel."
1st PRACTICE 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Kenseth turned five laps and was 12th fastest out of 60 cars that took at least one lap - circuiting the track at 184.290 miles per hour, 48.836 seconds.
2nd PRACTICE 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM
Kenseth turned only two laps, early in the session, and ended up 21st fastest out of 60 cars that took at least one lap - circuiting the track at 184.752 miles per hour, 48.714 seconds.
"The ARCA race was a lot of fun tonight. Fourth place is not necessarily the finish that we were looking for, but we came out of it with a Daytona top-five and without a scratch on our AAA Ford Fusion so I think there is something to be said for that. I had a great time working with the Roulo Brothers out here over the past few days and I hope that I will get the chance to run some races with them in the future."
"Cup practice went pretty good today. Our No. 6 AAA Ford is just as good as it was here during testing. I really wish we could pick up a tenth or so, but I think we will have a pretty decent qualifying run and hopefully we can keep up the momentum throughout the the week and into next weekend. Jimmy and the guys on the team have done a great job with getting the car ready for this race so now I just need to hold up my end of the bargain and bring home a good finish."
Greg Biffle on the Bud Shootout and Saturday's practice sessions:
"The Shootout car wasn't that fast to start with, but we had three cars. We took the best one for the 500 and the second-best one for a spare and Talladega, and our third-best one we had to use for the shootout. That's all we had. I think we learned a little bit tonight in the Shootout that's going to help us for the 150s and hopefully on to the 500.
"We're pretty happy with practice today in the car for the 500. Like everyone else, we were focusing on qualifying runs, so we were fast. We could stand to be a little faster but we're pretty happy with the car overall. I wouldn't be surprised with a top-10 qualifying lap tomorrow. Another pole here at Daytona would be nice but I think realistically we're shooting for a top-10 spot and a good starting position for the 150's."
