UPSETTING 21st FOR DAMON LUSK

MOORESVILLE, NC (5/14/06) - Damon Lusk, driver of the #65 Construct Corps Dodge, encountered another case of bad luck, finishing 21st, and dropping to 5th in the ARCA RE/MAX Series Championship points standings at Toledo Speedway's Hantz Group 200 presented by Federated Car Care.

After a spin in the second lap of qualifying, Lusk started the race 16th with a loose car and the mindset of being patient; but, only seven laps into the race, Lusk lost control, and spun in turn three causing a flat tire that put him three laps down.

"We had a top ten car," Lusk said. "So it is frustrating when you know that, and there is nothing you can do but race yourself at three laps down."

"Right now, with this team, we all are thinking the same thing here. We need some luck, and we have got to get our front ends better. For some reason our cars are not rotating. It's like we are missing the boat on something, or doing something wrong. We just can't get our cars into the racetrack like we need to. It's not a lack of effort, we just aren't cutting it."

"This is the first track that we had not tested at," Crew Chief Robby Benton said. "So we were a little apprehensive about showing up not knowing exactly what we wanted or needed. But once unloaded and on the track, we felt like we had a very competitive racecar that just needed minor adjustments. Damon did a great job driving through the field, but bad luck bit the team again when a right rear tire came apart after a turn three spin. All in all, we have got a really good program; we just need luck to be on our side."

Lusk and the BMR team are now headed for Michigan's open test, Tuesday, May 23, with the hopes of turning this program around.

"We are really excited about the several intermediate tracks that we have coming up," Benton said. "We feel those are our strong points, and Damon has always run well at those race tracks. We know that with the engine program, the cars, and the people that we have, this will be our chance to shine and gain back those points that we have lost."

The next attempt for Lusk and the BMR team is scheduled for Saturday, June 10 at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania. The race will be aired live on SPEED beginning at 1:00 pm Eastern.
