Damon Lusk Unhappy With Release From Brack Maggard Racing
Denver, North Carolina - ARCA RE/MAX Series championship contender Damon Lusk, who was released from his driving duties from Brack Maggard Racing (BMR) Wednesday afternoon once again finds himself without a ride nearing the end of a championship season. Lusk, a two-time winner in the ARCA RE/MAX Series joined the struggling No. 65 Construct Corps Dodge team in early March has jolted the team from top-15 contenders to consistent and likeable top-five contenders throughout much of the season.
The unexpected and shocking release left Lusk baffled, "I can't believe that they (BMR) would rent themselves out with just a few races remaining in the season. We battled hard all year, and we have made significant gains in the points standing in the last several weeks and they decide to put a driver who brings additional funding to the table, it makes no sense. It actually makes me sick to my stomach. I really enjoyed working with Brack personally, and Iam very thankful for the opportunity he gave me."
Just last week, Lusk and the BMR team scored their first Pork pole together in a one-lap track record qualifying effort at the Illinois State Fairgrounds (Springfield) last Sunday. Lusk says he will rebound and is looking at all opportunities that may arise. "My goal is to be in Milwaukee this weekend, protecting my position in the point standings. I don't know if that will happen, but I am confident that I will be back on track soon, more determined than ever.
In 16 ARCA RE/MAX Series races this year, Lusk, a native of Kennewick, Washington has posted three top fives including a solid fifth place finish in the season opener at Daytona International Speedway with eight additional top ten finishes while also boasting his pole at Springfield.
