Second Generation Driver Looks to Climb In ARCA Standings

Joliet, IL - - With only three ARCA RE/MAX Series events remaining, Chicago, Illinois native Billy Venturini looks to rekindle his way back to the start of the 2004 season, where his Venturini Motorsports team proved to be threatful and consistent.

Returning to the "windy city," Venturini guided by his father, two-time ARCA champion Bill Venturini look to add another top-ten finish to their roster, along with the hopes of marching their blue and white Chevrolet Monte Carlo to victory lane for the first time.

There's no doubt that Venturini has been close to triumph this season, but a series of obstacles including a controversial call, mechanical failure, and incidents during race trim have whipped away the team's dream.

As a stout field awaits the ReadyHosting.com 200 on Saturday afternoon, hometown hero Billy Venturini is clearly one of the favorites.

The Venturini Motorsports team is in the midst of completing three events in nine days on the tour. Last Friday night, Venturini appeared to be the favorite at Toledo Speedway, but an incident at the drop of the green flag caused substantial damage to the No. 25, with an engine failure later in the event eventually seizing the team's day. This past Monday, the team competed at DuQuoin State Fairgrounds. After qualifying 16th, Venturini soldiered throughout the race to collect a respectable 13th place finish in the Central Merchant Services machine.

With two events completed and one to go, Venturini along with his team shift their focus of surviving the short tracks to thrusting their Chevrolet to the lead pack.

Hoping to roar from his 22nd starting position, the team will have plenty of support both in the pits and in the stands this weekend.

ReadyHosting.com, the main sponsor for Saturday's ARCA RE/MAX Series event has inked a deal with the team. Chicago will mark the third time this season they've linked with the former late model competitor, sponsoring the team at Kentucky Speedway, and Nashville Superspeedway earlier this summer.

Venturini rocketed to a second place finish at Kentucky, followed by a solid 12th place finish in the "Music City" at Nashville Superspeedway last month. Now, landing in Chicago, the duo would like to surpass that runner-up finish, netting that first win.

In addition to ReadyHosting.com, the team has also tapped sponsorship from ABC Auto Parts, Chicago's largest automotive recycling and service complex. ABC Auto Parts has been a significant contributor since joining the team in 2001.

The No. 25 team has also picked up several associate sponsors for the 20th event of the season. Central Merchant Services, LaGrou Trucking, and Cold Storage, Texas Corral Restaurants, and T.A..V & Associates, Inc. have also latched onboard, filling up the team's sponsorship roster for the weekend.

In just his third full season of competition in the ARCA RE/MAX Series, Billy has accumulated six top-give finishes, and 11 top-ten finishes thus far in the 2004 campaign. Billy Venturini currently holds the third-place spot in the national point standings.

The North Carolina native would like to take a huge chunk out of leader Frank Kimmel's, and second-place Brent Sherman points lead and grab a career-best championship finish. While Kimmel's lead is extensive, and Sherman catchable, this likable, classy driver will give nothing more than 150% behind the wheel for his team.

Earlier this year Venturini Motorsports announced the release of a Special Edition Chicago Cubs Die Cast Replica. This commemorative die cast car features the 2003 N.L. Central Division Championship Chicago Cubs team. The Chicago Cubs / Venturini Motorsports car will be available in the ARCA pit area this weekend at the Chicagoland Speedway and also on the team's website.

The ReadyHosting.com 200 is the 20th of 22 events on the 2004 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. The race will take the green flag Saturday, September 11th. The Speed Channel will broadcast the race live with coverage beginning at 2:00pm EST.
