Hemphill Hustles into Lowe's
"Rookie Unveils Website"
May 24, 2004 (Mooresville, North Carolina) - The last few months have been whirlwind for ARCA RE/Max Series rookie Ryan Hemphill and he welcomes the chance to race at the home to most people in the sport. Hemphill and his #64 TRIMSPA DODGE head into Lowe's Motor Speedway this week for the running of the Quaker Steak and Lube 100 Thursday night under the lights.
"I am excited about racing in front of everyone at Lowe's," stated Hemphill. "With the race being right after Nextel Cup qualifying on Thursday night there will be a lot of people in the sport watching this race - really this is our biggest race of the season for exposure. We tested at the track a few weeks ago and I think we will be pretty good. We are bringing the same car that we won with at Kentucky and set a new qualifying record and led the majority of the race at Nashville. The car has been awesome every race thus far and I am confident that my crew chief (Greg Tester) and the guys on this Braun Racing crew will have the TRIMSPA DODGE dialed in for me."
Hemphill, 22, will be making his much anticipated career debut at the Lowe's Motor Speedway. The ARCA test session a few weeks ago saw him make his first laps around the 1.5 mile speed plant.
In 4 races this season in the ARCA RE/Max Series, Hemphill has earned 1 pole (Nashville) with a new track record and 1 win (Kentucky) with the race record for leading the most laps. Although he has competed in only 4 of the 5 ARCA RE/Max Series events this season, Ryan sits in a close 3rd for the battle of the Rookie of the Year honor - being the highest finishing rookie in 3 of those 4 events has added in his quest for this honor.
Also, Ryan is proud to announce the launch of his first website - www.ryanhemphill.com. The site was designed by David Hahn at GraphicwolfArt and will be maintained by Trackside Marketing (the operators of BGNRacing.com).
"I am pumped about having the website up and running," added Ryan. "In today's wide use of computers and the internet you need to have a presence there and this give us that. I appreciate the work put into it by everyone and I think it looks great - I hope everyone enjoys it as well."
The green flag for the running of the 100 mile event is scheduled to wave at 9:00 p.m. EST with LIVE television coverage on SPEED Channel.
