Rain, Rain, Go Away.....

We started out the weekend on Thursday. Our motor was not ready. The crankshaft was bent in the Charlotte wreck and had not yet been returned by the "crank fixer". You know, the guy who hits it with a hammer to make it straight again.

Anyhow, we took delivery on Thursday at 5pm. A two hour drive to the engine shop from the crank fixer, and we started assembling the motor. At 3am we left the engine shop for the Buckeroo shop with a motor. At 4:30 am we started putting it into the car. We were supposed to leave for Kil-Kare at 8:00am...ha. We ran into a couple of parts problems and the motor finally ran around 1pm, but had oil leaks everywhere. It was sunny and breezy in Ann Arbor. We went in and looked at the weather channel and decided to continue working on the car in Ann Arbor since Ohio looked like it was getting drenched. We finally had something we knew we could race around 6pm. We would have it ready for Flat Rock and hope that Kil-Kare got rained on. It did.

But so did Flat Rock.. Oh well.

Next race for us will be the Shady Bowl, Toledo weekend towards the end of June. ARCA will be racing at Pocono this weekend and Michigan the following. We'll do some testing at the "rock" and be sure to be ready for Shady Bowl.
