Brandon Knupp; Headed for History Class at "Milwaukee Mile"
Venerable, legendary, historic, these are all words you probably wouldn't associate with 19-year old Sidney, Ohio race car driver Brandon Knupp, however, these terms and many more have been used to describe the oldest operating motor speedway in the world, the "Milwaukee Mile" in West Allis, Wisconsin. Knupp, driver of the Mark Knupp Muffler & Tire Ford is hoping to add the association and history of this famed complex to his profile this Saturday when the ARCA RE/Max Series heads to Wisconsin for the ARCA 150.
"Milwaukee's got a lot of history behind it, when you consider names like Bowsher, Foyt, and the Unser's there's some pretty big shoes to fill there." said Knupp, "I've never seen the place, but I hear it's flat as a pancake and I got that from a pretty reliable source in Jack (Bowsher), but it sounds like it could be a lot of fun and a lot of work at the same time." Brandon added, "It's Wednesday and we're still working pretty heavy to get this car ready, but we're all pretty well prepared and know what to expect, so let's get to it, I'm ready for the "Mile".
While in Wisconsin Brandon is scheduled for an appearance at Checkered Flag Lightning at Gurnee Mills in Gurnee, Illinois from 6 - 8pm Thursday, June 2. Checkered Flag Lightning is a state-of-the-art racing simulator game room with locations throughout the United States. This appearance will feature an autograph session as well as virtual race competition with selected race fans.
The MKR team and driver Brandon Knupp will be at the "Milwaukee Mile" on Friday June 3 for ARCA RE/Max Series practice and Pork pole qualifying. The ARCA 150 is scheduled to go green at 2:30pm local time on Sunday June 4, live on SPEED.
