Flemington, NJ, August 7, 1999 . . . Art Seeger will be involved in two firsts at Flemington, NJ Speedway on Saturday, August 14. The veteran race driver will be participating in the first Automobile Racing Club of America Bondo/Mar-Hyde Series race at the 5/8th-mile asphalt NASCAR sanctioned racing facility. And when Seeger runs in the Summit Bank 150 he will be testing his driving skills for the first time on the unique "square shaped" speedway. The night of racing action, which will include support events, will get the green flag at 6 p.m. "When I was racing on the local level Flemington was a dirt track and I was running the paved tracks. And when Flemington went to pavement my career had taken me to major racing facilities. I just never had the opportunity to run a Paul Kuhl's racing plant. I have seen some races there and my friends have told me a lot about it. I am looking forward to the race," said the Toms River, NJ race driver. Seeger's 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix (#06), owned by Wayne Petersen (Tennessee), will be sponsored by Alantech Electric Co. of Morristown, NJ. The electrical contractor handles commercial and industrial clients specializing in retrofit of computer lines to the industry. This will be the first time in an ARCA car since November, 1997 for Seeger. In that outing the engine let go on his Nestle's sponsored entry while running in eighth position. More recently Seeger has been doing some consulting work with Stock Car Experience at Pocono, PA Raceway. This is a fan driving experience on the Pocono superspeedway. "The fact that I have been out of "seat" for a couple of years is not a problem, to me. It is like riding a bicycle, you just don't forget. I am really excited about this opportunity and I think we are going to do well. And we are looking at additional outings on the ARCA schedule before the season is over. It will be fun to be racing against the ARCA stars especially the local guys like Andy Belmont, Bobby Gerhart and Walter Reilly," said the 42-year-old racer. Additional sponsorship support for the Flemington Summit 150 outing will come from Accurate Technologies, Inc. (Tinton Falls, NJ and Baltimore, MD ) specializing in mechanical intergrity ( i.e. chemical and piping for storage tanks on the East Coast ). Good seats still remain for the Summit 150 ARCA Bondo/Mar-Hyde race at Flemington, NJ Speedway on August 14.
