TOLEDO, OHIO, 3-7-01 - In its third season, the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series has released its 2001 schedule to include 14 events in six states.

The '01 schedule, like previous years, will include a mix of dirt and pavement tracks beginning with a 50-lapper on the ¼ mile paved track at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, Kentucky on May 11 and ending with a non-points 100-lapper at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on October 6. The season-opening Kentucky race, which will run in conjunction with the USAC MCI WorldCom Midget Series, will serve as a prelude for the next-day ARCA RE/MAX Series Kentucky 150 on the 1.5-mile adjoining superspeedway.

ARCA-sanctioned Toledo and Flat Rock Speedways will host three events including 50-lap features at Toledo on June 22 and September 15 as well as a 100 lap main event at Flat Rock on July 21. In addition, the June Toledo event and the July Flat Rock event will be televised on Speedvision, which, at present, broadcasts to 37 million homes nationwide.

Venues returning to the schedule in '01 include dirt-track races at Crystal Motor Speedway in Crystal, Michigan on May 26 and the LaSalle Speedway ¼-mile clay in LaSalle, Illinois on June 9. Also returning for the new season include Lorain County Speedway in South Amherst, Ohio on July 28, a tentative date at Illiana Motor Speedway in Schererville, Indiana on September 1 and Salem Speedway in Salem, Indiana on September 8. Similar to the season-opening Kentucky race, the Lincoln Welders Truck Series will join the ARCA RE/MAX Series at Salem for a two-day ARCA extravaganza.

New venues in '01 include a two-day event at the new 3/8ths-mile paved I-75 Speedway in Mount Vernon, Kentucky on June 30 and July 1, Dixie Motor Speedway in Birch Run, Michigan on July 13, New Paris Speedway in New Paris, Indiana on August 4 and Grundy County Speedway in Morris, Illinois with a date to be announced.
