For the only time in 2015 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season the series will turn left and right at the 2.25 mile, 12 turn New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP) road course located in Millville, New Jersey.
Austin Wayne Self has two prior starts at NJMP. His best finish came in his first ARCA road course start in 2013 when he finished in the 10th position.
"The past couple of years I have learned a lot racing at the road courses on the ARCA schedule,” Self (AWS) driver of the No. 98 AM Technical Solutions Ford stated.
“I feel like this year we are going to have a great car at NJMP, MMM does a great job providing me with great cars every weekend. I believe if we keep all four tires on the track all day there’s no reason we can’t earn a top-five finish."
Just one start
While 2014 championship team Mason Mitchell Motorsports only has one prior start at NJMP, coming last year and finishing in 10th the 67 lap event owner Mason Mitchell believes the team’s performance in the road course will be better.
“Last year was our first time racing at NJMP and we just wanted to keep the car clean,” Mason Mitchell 2014 ARCA champion and owner of MMM stated.”
“Austin is very smooth on road courses and already has one top-ten at NJMP. Our goal is to always win, but I believe coming out with a solid top-five finish would be a great day.”
Self and MMM enter this weekend 4th in the championship standings trailing leader Grant Enfinger by only 60 markers.
