EA SPORTS Supercross Banquet Returns to the Joint Hard Rock Hotel and Casino To Host EA SPORTS Supercross

AURORA, Ill. (November 30, 2001) - Clear Channel Entertainment's motor sports division is pleased to announce that the EA SPORTS Supercross banquet will once again be held at the Joint inside the legendary Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas May 5, 2002.

A show in itself, the EA SPORTS Supercross banquet is the culminating event of the 16-round season, complete with a laser show, spotlights and special guests. Champions will be crowned, awards will be given and a whole lot of cash will be awarded at the prestigious event. Some of the awards that highlight the night include: Team Manager of the Year, Dave Coombs Sr. East/West Shootout, and the EA SPORTS Supercross Champion. It's a time for the riders to get recognized in front of the entire motocross industry.

"By popular demand from within the entire EA SPORTS Supercross family, we are proud to announce that this season's final festive gathering will take place in the Joint, everyone's favorite post-supercross hangout," said Mark Abernethy, director of marketing, Clear Channel Entertainment - Motor Sports.

For the first time in supercross' 27-year history, Clear Channel Entertainment's motor sports division awarded the Team Manager of the Year in 2001, which is voted upon by the supercross Team Managers themselves. The award went to Team Suzuki's Roger DeCoster, as he helped guide Travis Pastrana to his first-ever 125cc Eastern Regional Supercross championship and Kevin Windham to a successful 250cc campaign.

"Winning the Team Manager of the Year Award last year made me feel good because it came from my peers," said DeCoster. "Each year this banquet gets better and is done in such a professional manner. This event is just as good, if not better, than the rest of the major formal award shows out there."
