American Honda and Clear Channel Entertainment - Motor Sports Team up to Help Privateer Povolny

AURORA, Ill. (February 27, 2004) - Clear Channel Entertainment's Motor Sports division and American Honda will present privateer James Povolny, national #64, a new Honda CR250R at Atlanta's Georgia Dome.

Following the THQ World Supercross GP/THQ AMA Supercross Series race in San Francisco, Povolny had his #64 CR250R stolen. Povolny, who is a privateer, travels from race to race and finances his entire race efforts on his own budget. Polvolny's dedication to continue to compete at a professional level became evident in Houston when he and his mechanic re-vamped his practice bike and won the last chance qualifier, securing him a spot in the main event.

"An unfortunate thing happened to James Povolny in San Francisco," said Todd Jendro, director of supercross, Clear Channel Entertainment - Motor Sports. "Clear Channel Entertainment's Motor Sports division and American Honda realize the importance of having a strong field of competitors, with riders like James, at every supercross."

Polvolny, a former Subway Team member, has had an ongoing relationship with American Honda for the past four years.

"James has been a loyal Honda rider and a consistent performer,"said Ray Blank, vice president of American Honda's Motorcycle Division. "We are happy we can help him continue to compete at the top level in AMA racing."
