Path Valley Rains Out May 7, Modifies AMA Schedule
Spring Run, PA_ Everybody won rain checks Friday night as the Path Valley Speedway Park racing rained out for the fifth time this season.
The micro-sprints, Legends and stock cars races will not be rescheduled and the 270 and 600 Sprints along with the modified Mini Stocks and Four-cylinder Thunder Cars will be back next and every Friday evening. The V-8 Street Stocks and Legends race every other week and next Friday, May 14, the PA 305 Sprints and the Dwarf Cars replace them on the alternating schedule.
The rainout does not affect the Saturday program with gates open at 10 a.m. for the regular weekly kart and four-wheeler races and gates open again at 5 p.m. May 8 for the Strictly Stock four, six and eight cylinder low budget pure stock cars.
In a related announcement, Two Wheel Promotions reported that due to scheduling conflicts the AMA Northeast Nationals set for Memorial Day weekend schedule has changed. The bikes and four-wheelers will race at Path Valley in the Short Track leg of the Grand National Qualifiers sponsored by Action Motorsports on May 29.
Then the remaining two qualifying events have been switched and the AMA Northeast Amateur National TT sponsored by Woodward's ATV will be at Path Valley Sunday, May 30, with the annual Bike Rodeo following the points racing. Then the AMA Northeast Amateur National Half-Mile at Williams Grove Speedway sponsored by Lexus of Cherry Hill will be Monday, May 31.
The Path Valley Speedway Park is located in Spring Run PA a mile north on PA Route 641 from the intersection with PA Route 75, halfway between Port Royal and Hagerstown.
