PERFECTION IS ATTAINABLE FOR MONSTER ENERGY KAWASAKI AND JAMES STEWART

To say it was a perfect weekend for Monster Energy Kawasaki's James Stewart would be an understatement. Stewart's two moto wins at Steel City Raceway in Delmont, Penn. were the culmination of a season for the record books as he scored the maximum number of points a rider can obtain during an AMA Motocross season.

On board his Kawasaki KX™450F, Stewart's season was one for the ages as he led all but 13 laps during the summer, including leading every lap of the last 13 motos.

"Today was really special," said Stewart. "I was nervous because I knew today meant a lot. I just went out there and rode a good pace and I got it done. After the injury this year, it's amazing to do this. I wasn't even sure I would be ready for Glen Helen."

Stewart missed the majority of the 2008 AMA Supercross season after undergoing knee surgery in late January. Before he went under the knife, Stewart earned a second place finish and a win in only two supercross starts this year. To put the outdoor season in perspective, only one other rider has accomplished a perfect season in AMA history. Stewart's accomplishment is one he will cherish for a long time.

"Somebody told me how incredible this is," said Stewart. "You know they crown a champion every year, but how many perfect seasons are there?"

The season also marked the end of a great summer for Kawasaki as the manufacturer powered both the AMA Motocross and AMA Motocross Lites Champions as well as placing second in the motocross season standings and third in the motocross lites year-end points standings.
