AMA FLAT TRACK TWINS CHAMPIONSHIP FINALE RESCHEDULED TO NEW DATE AND TIME

PICKERINGTON, Ohio (September 25, 2006) -- Fans of the AMA Ford Quality Check Flat Track Championship will have to wait a couple more weeks to see who captures the AMA Grand National Twins crown as last Saturday night's scheduled finale was washed away due to heavy rains.

The event, dubbed the Charity Newsies Hall of Fame Classic AMA Grand National presented by A.D. Farrow Co., has been rescheduled for Saturday, Oct. 14 with a rain date of Oct. 15 at Scioto Downs in Columbus, Ohio.

Additionally, AMA Flat Track Series Manager Bruce Bober is moving up the evening's start time to 5:00 p.m. to account for the fall season's cooler evenings.

"With four riders having a shot at the title, it's imperative that we get this event in cleanly," said Bober. "Last week we saw that weather was likely going to be a problem for Saturday's event so the need to postpone it came as no real surprise. We're glad that we could work with the promoter and facility to reschedule the event. Also, starting opening ceremonies at 5:00 with heat races beginning at 5:30 should enable us to finish the event earlier than normal."

Kenny Coolbeth leads the championship with 135 points over Jared Mees who trails with 126. Defending champion Chris Carr sits in third with 125 points closely followed by Bryan Smith with 119 points. Each rider has a chance at walking away with the title.
