AMA RACING WELCOMES HAMMER MOTORSPORTS TO AMA/PROSTAR

PICKERINGTON, Ohio (February 7, 2007) -- The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) and AMA Racing welcome the purchase today of Prostar Motorcycle Drag Racing, operators of the AMA/Prostar U.S. Drag Racing Series, by Hammer Motorsports of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Under the new owners, the AMA/Prostar U.S. Drag Racing Series will revert to the operational arrangement in place over the previous 13 years, with Prostar conducting all race operations under AMA sanction. AMA Drag Race Manager and eight-time AMA/Prostar National Champion Bruce Sauer will leave his AMA staff position to return to active AMA/Prostar competition.

"AMA Racing is pleased that Hammer Motorsports has made the commitment in guiding motorcycle drag racing into the future," said Keith Kizer, AMA Road Race Series Director and Prostar co-founder. "We look forward to a smooth transition, and to AMA/Prostar's continued contribution to the growth of motorcycle sport in the U.S."

Hammer Motorsports has announced that it will run the previously established 2007 AMA/Prostar schedule, beginning March 3 - 4 with the B&B Promotions Bikeweek Nationals at South Georgia Motorsports Park in Valdosta, Ga.
