New York, NY & Norfolk, England: American sports car star, Jay Cochran and England's F-3000 and GT ace, Richard Dean, will drive a third Panoz works entry in the Leather Center Grand Prix of Texas at the Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday, the first stop on the ALMS series tour. "We are pleased to be able to work with Westward Racing Group and we hope this race in Texas will enable them to be better prepared for the European Le Mans Series," stated sports car racing visionary, Don Panoz.

"The Panoz organization has offered our drivers and crewmembers a huge opportunity by entering the third car for us," said Westward Motorsport Director, David Sims. "This will give us essential hands-on experience with the Panoz LMP-1 Roadster in the heat of battle," Sims said.

Taking an uncharacteristic position outside the car is Westward regular driver Peter Boss. "Having completed just 20 laps testing in the 2000 Panoz chassis at Road Atlanta last Monday, I felt that it was in both Panoz Motor Sports' and Westward's best interest to hand the wheel to a more experienced endurance driver like Richard Dean. It's not easy, but it's the right decision," Boss stated.

Westward Racing Group LLC is a motor sports marketing organization with management offices in New York, New York and racing team works in Norfolk, England.
