VOICES OF LIME ROCK: DOMINIK FARNBACHER

One of the most pleasant stories in the first half of the American Le Mans Series season was the success of Panoz Team PTG. In a class with Posche, Ferrari, BMW and others, the Tom Milner-led team has held its own with the Panoz Esperante GTLM and drivers Dominik Farnbacher and Ian James.

Farnbacher and James stand third in the driver championship in GT2, as does Panoz in the manufacturer battle. The American Le Mans Northeast Grand Prix stands to provide yet another challenge to the Virginia-based team.

"Lime Rock is very, very tight and very cornery, and you need to have a very quick responding car and a very light car," said Farnbacher, whose best finish at Lime Rock came last year with a fourth-place GT2 finish in a Tafel Racing Ferrari. "The lighter the car, the better it handles there, and our car is very heavy compared to that. Let's see what we can do. Miller fit our car good, and Lime Rock might fit it good. Let's see."

The American Le Mans Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Conn, is scheduled for 2:05 p.m. EDT on Saturday, July 18. The race will air live on SPEED. American Le Mans Radio presented by Porsche and Live Timing & Scoring will be available at Racehub on americanlemans.com. You also can follow the Series on Twitter.

The race also will mark the fifth round of the MICHELIN® Green X® Challenge. Tickets are available at americanlemans.com and limerock.com.
