Primetime Race Group Chooses Hankook Race Tires for ALMS Competition
WAYNE, N.J., May 12, 2008 - Hankook Tire America Corp. has teamed up with Primetime Race Group to serve as the team's official tire supplier for competition in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS).
Hankook and Primetime have agreed to work together under the terms of a tire development and supply agreement that includes equipping the team's Dodge Viper with Hankook Ventus F200 racing tires. "After meeting with Primetime Race Group, we realized that they have the same passion for success as Hankook," said Bill Bainbridge, director of brand communication for Hankook Tire America Corp. "They are an excellent fit for our race tire development program and we believe that together we can reach the ultimate goal of getting the team on the podium."
Team drivers Joel Feinberg and Chris Hall pilot the #11 Dodge Viper Competition Coupe in the GT2 class of the series. The Viper had an impressive season debut with a fifth place finish in their class at the grueling Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.
Last week, the newfound partnership between Primetime Race Group and Hankook Tire wasn't finalized in the office...but on the track. Feinberg and Hall fully tested several specifications of Hankook race tires at Roebling Road Raceway in Savannah and were impressed with the initial results. Hankook engineers were on hand working with the Primetime team, helping to customize car set-up in order to maximize the performance of the new Hankook tires in advance of this weekend's Utah Grand Prix.
Besides being the primary driver, Joel Feinberg is also Primetime Race Group's owner. He comes from a strong background in running successful businesses and understands the importance of using high quality products. "We race on Hankook tires in IMSA Lites and we knew that they have had success in a number of other forms of motorsports. Last week's test session was a fantastic reinforcement of our decision to partner with Hankook. The performance of the tires speaks for itself and we're excited to go racing with Hankook's on our Viper." In addition to ALMS, Feinberg's team also competes in IMSA Lites, where Hankook Tire is the official tire supplier for the series.
About Primetime Race Group
Primetime Race Group is a South Florida-based company with a sole motivation of dedication to its team of drivers, mechanics, and engineers, who share a common goal of excellence. The team is lead by owner/driver Joel Feinberg, whose passion for winning as a team is the foundation of his success. The team's approach to the sport is not a common one, as a privateer team Primetime has chosen to cut its own path into the American Le Mans Series without manufacturer or factory support. The program is derived from countless man hours and sleepless nights to insure that when they hit the track there has been no stone unturned.
Primetime competes in the ALMS's GT2 class, the most competitive in the series. With more than seven different manufacturers and a fierce group of talented drivers, winning will not always come down to how fast a car is, but also how efficient a team is. The team's uncompromised efforts and recent success has shown that Primetime is a top contender and is here to stay. They are in the business of winning.
