The Racer's Group ready to speak french again.
SONOMA, Calif. - July 29, 2002 - The Racer's Group should feel at home in French-speaking Quebec after being in France last month for the 24 Hours of Le Mans in which the team took first in the GT class. The team is preparing for the street circuit race at the Le Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres this weekend. The Le Mans-winning Porsche 911 GT3 RS will be driven by team owner and driver Kevin Buckler and professional driver Michael Schrom.
Buckler and Schrom are also co-drivers in the Grand American Road Racing Series, where they are the highest points scoring GT team this season. When Schrom isn't taking to race tracks around the country, he runs his own production company in New York City where he performs as director and cinematographer filming television commercials for advertising agencies worldwide.
"I am really looking forward to this race not only because of the track but the event itself is really cool. I was here two years ago and set the pole then. Michael was in that race racing against me and was really fast. Now we are teammates. I like street courses and I think our car will be good here. I am excited to be driving with Michael, as we seem to have worked some magic together all year," Buckler said.
The Racer's Group proved itself to be formidable on a street course after taking the lead early on in a tough battle with the Alex Job team at the inaugural Cadillac Grand Prix of Washington D.C., Both cars finished an impressive second and fourth. The team will make its way to the famous 1.52-mile street circuit in Quebec that will take place on Saturday, August 3.
The Racer's Group is a manufacturer and distributor of high performance Porsche parts, an engine and chassis building and tuning facility, a full service Porsche prep facility and a professional race team.
