Melanie Paterson will be back behind the wheel of the #18 Imation Lola/Nissan P675 this upcoming weekend in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec. The first of the two Canadian races, the historical Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres will see its 34th consecutive year as one of the most popular race events in North America. Melanie Paterson and Jason Workman will pilot the #18 Imation Lola in the fourth round of the American Le Mans this weekend. The event starts with testing on Friday August 1, with qualifying Saturday afternoon and the race on Sunday August 3 at 2:45pm. The 2 hour, 45 minute race will broadcast live on SPEED Channel starting at 2:30pm ET. The live race commentary will also be broadcast on American Le Mans Radio Web
"I am looking forward to returning to Le Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres," said Melanie. "The event is always first class - it is like a Formula One event with more fan access! The whole town gets in the spirit and there are events every night for the race fans."
Melanie has extensive experience racing at the temporary street circuit of Trois-Rivieres, as it was a regular stop when she was competing in the Canadian Formula Ford Championship. She has good memories of 2002 at Trois-Rivieres, as that was her debut in an ALMS P675 and they earned third place in class.
"I typically enjoy street circuits," Melanie said. "I have had good results in the past in Trois-Rivieres and hopefully we will again this year. It is a tough circuit for set-up, as it is very bumpy, with a combination of asphalt and concrete. There are also the crowns of the street to content with. There are some places that if you exit to the edge of the track, it will pull the car into the wall."
Melanie's corporate partners are technology leader Imation Canada Inc. and Cartech of San Antonio, Texas, a manufacturer of forced induction and high performance automotive components. Melanie^Ys other corporate partners include Maraca Canada, Driving Unlimited, GeoGraphics Motorsports Graphics and Digital North Media.
