Auburn Hills, Mich., The S4 team is eager to try out the new Texas Motor Speedway circuit for round six of the Speedvision World Challenge GT Series.
The layout of the Texas track will be challenging for the S4 Competition with its high-speed oval section and tight infield turns. The Audi S4 should be able to go around the oval section flat-out reaching speeds of over 160 mph.
With just four events remaining, Michael Galati is fifth in the GT point's standings with 86. Derek Bell lies in eleventh with 58 series points. In the manufacturer standings, Audi is third with 16.
After a difficult race in Quebec, Michael Galati and Derek Bell are ready to get back to the front of the pack with their Audi S4's in Texas.
Michael Galati, Champion Audi/S4 Competition: "I believe the problems will be solved from Quebec. Texas will be a real horsepower track. We don't have the straight-line speed to keep up with the Viper and Corvette. It looks like it will be flat out all the way around the oval."
"In addition it is going to be quite hot and the turbo doesn't run at its maximum in hot weather. The heat is also going to play a role with the tires."
"We are not out of the championship by any means. I missed a race and had some tough luck in Quebec, so I am pretty happy with where we are at right now."
Rod Bymaster, manager, Audi Sport North America:
"We believe we have the mechanical issues solved that plagued the team in Quebec. The Texas layout should be interesting for the drivers, once again a brand new layout."
