Herta Qualifies Fourth in XM Satellite Radio Car for Acura Sports Car Challenge
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (March 30, 2007) - Bryan Herta, who will be sharing the #26 XM Satellite Radio Acura with teammate Marino Franchitti, qualified fourth in the LMP2 class for Saturday's Acura Sports Car Challenge of St. Petersburg. Herta posted a best-lap speed of 101.653 miles per hour (1:03.746 seconds) during the qualifying session. The XM Satellite Radio team will start fifth overall.
The inaugural Acura Sports Car Challenge of St. Petersburg will be the second ALMS race in Andretti Green Racing's history. Drivers Herta, Dario Franchitti and Tony Kanaan won the LMP2 division of the 12 Hours of Sebring on March 17.
The Acura Sports Car Challenge will start at 5:05 p.m. (EDT) Saturday, March 31. Television coverage will be provided by SPEED Channel on a tape-delayed basis beginning at 8 p.m. (EDT).
Bryan Herta, #26 XM Satellite Radio Acura:
"Qualifying went pretty well. I can't complain too much. The balance of the XM Satellite Radio Acura was pretty good but we had a little too much understeer. We obviously have to work on our pace a little bit to get to where the Penske cars are. We were getting faster as the session went on and maybe we outsmarted ourselves a bit by waiting but I wasn't going to go seventh-tenths of a second faster so we'll take it and get the car ready for the race."
