Sebring, FL. -- Mar. 12, 2003 -- Thursday's qualifying session for the 51st running of the 12 Hours of Sebring produced good results for The Racer's Group today, as the Monster Cable/Mail2Web Porsche 911 GT3 RS es picked up speed. Shock troubles had slowed the cars until today, but diligent work by the crew got the three cars moving up through the field.

Team owner and lead driver of #66, Kevin Buckler qualified his Monster Cable/Mail2Web Porsche in 9th position. "Mechanically, the car's a monster, but we're still struggling with the bumps. We're going to make some big changes for tonight's practice, but we're getting there. We're going to keep making improvements."

Vic Rice, who drove #67 to 20th position in GT, was happy with the progress made. "For the first time since we've been here, the car showed good balance today -- it feels neutral. The primary changes that we'll have to make now are going to be eliminating the tall gearing and getting improved engine mapping. Tommy Sadler, the crew chief for my car, has been wonderful sorting out the problems that had plagued us to date. We're happy campers as far as our handling goes, and I think that the gearing and engine mapping changes will help us tremendously."

Cort Wagner qualified the #68 car to 15th position today, as the team kept working towards an optimal suspension setup. "We still haven't found the right package for our car, but today, we tried an entirely new setup. It gave us a little help. We've got a lot of work to do yet, and we'll see what we can put together before tonight's practice."

Thursday's night practice sees the three Monster Cable/Mail2Web Porsche 911 GT3 RS es take to the track in the dark at 8 p.m. EST. The 51st running of the 12 Hours of Sebring takes place Saturday, March 15, at 10:30 a.m. EST. All 12 Hours of the race will be covered live in the United States on Speed Channel.
