Flying Lizard Readies for Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring

March 16, 2005-SEBRING, Fla.-Flying Lizard Motorsports is in Florida this week preparing for the ALMS season opener, the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. The two-car GT2 team will field their Porsche 911 RSRs at the 12-hour endurance classic this Saturday, March 19. Lizard drivers Johannes van Overbeek and Jon Fogarty are joined by Darren Law in the No. 45 Porsche. It's a repeat performance for the trio who drove the No. 45 to a 4th in class finish here in 2004. In the No. 44 Porsche, Lizard teammates Lonnie Pechnik and Seth Neiman are joined by guest driver David Murry for the race.

"The last four months of work have been geared towards getting ready for this race. Sebring is one of the hardest races in the world on cars and drivers; every bit of preparation can make a difference," said Flying Lizard crew chief Tommy Sadler. "We've worked hard this week on setup to shake out the last kinks. So far, the GT2 field is looking very strong and it's shaping up to be an exciting race."

Law and Murry had their first run in the Porsches yesterday during testing. "It's great to be back with the Lizards and get another shot at Sebring with Johannes and Jon. So far, the cars are handling well and the field is fast," said Law. Murry added, "In the No. 44, Lonnie, Seth and I will be focused on staying strong and consistent throughout the race. This is a tough race and with a large field of 18 GT2 cars we'll definitely have our work cut out for us."

Chief strategist Thomas Blam added, "Quite a few cars have a legitimate chance of taking GT2 this year. Alex Job is strong as always, the Petersen/White Lightning car should be a front runner, and after what has obviously been a serious winter of development the Panoz cars should also be strong. And of course, should any of these falter, there are a lot of strong contenders to pick up the spoils."

The 2005 Flying Lizard Porsches are sponsored by eSilicon and ShoreTel. The Porsches again sport the distinctive Flying Lizard livery, with the No. 45 in black and silver this year and sister car No. 44 in the familiar red and silver.

The 53rd annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring gets the green flag on Saturday, March 19th at 10:45 a.m. Eastern Time. The race will be broadcast live by SPEED Channel.
