Hour Nine Report

At approximately eight hours into the race with Darren Law behind the wheel, the No. 45 car developed a braking problem which caused the front brake to stay partially engaged, slowing the car considerably. He brought the car in for an unscheduled pit stop and the crew changed calipers, rotors and pads and made a driver change to Jon Fogarty. No. 45 was running second in GT2 class at the onset of the problem.

After one lap, Fogarty was back in the pits reporting a continuation of the problem. During a 10-minute pit stop, the crew manually freed up the front brake master cylinder and linkage, which corrected the problem.

Jon returned to the track 3rd position in class and 14th overall.

"All of a sudden, it was like the brakes were continually on. The car nearly came to a halt on the track. It's was a very weird feeling to be going along in a rhythm and all of a sudden the brakes were on, but I wasn't touching them. The crew did a great job diagnosing an unusual problem and getting the car back out on track. We lost a position, but at least we're still out there," said Darren Law.
