Maranello, 22nd March - Fantastic double-win for the F430 GT2 at the 12 Hours of Sebring, the first race of the 2009 American Le Mans Series. Car number 62 with the Portuguese Jaime Melo, the Finn Mika Salo and the German Pierre Kaffer gained class victory after 332 laps, crossing the line three laps ahead of the sister-car from the Advanced Engineering team with the Argentinians Luiz Perez Companc and Mattias Russo and the Italian Gimmi Bruni behind the wheel. It was the second success for Salo and Melo on Ferrari in this prestiguos race after 2008, while Kaffer, after winning the overall classification on Audi in 2004, debuted here behind the wheel of the F430 GT2.

The cars from Maranello dominated the race.Melo ahd to start from the back of the grid, because the car hadn't taken part in the qualifying session the night before. But after two hours in the race the Team Risi car was already driving on the first position in the field, bringing home victory. The second car from the team Risi Competizione gained sixth place with the American Tracy Krohn, the Swede Nic Jonsson and the veteran Belgian Eric van de Poele, crossing the line 29 laps behind the winners.

"I'm very happy. I'm proud that the three Ferraris at the start crossed the line, confirming how good this car is and how well it is prepared," Giuseppe Risi, Team Principal Risi Competizione, said. "We've dominated the race and we didn't have any technical problem: the team and the drivers have done some great work from the start to the finish."
