First and second position for the Courage C65 in Sebring ! (LMP2 category)

When Sebring 12 hours started, nobody could have said who would win : the C65 AER driven by the American team (last season' ALMS champion), Miracle Motorsport, and the C65 Judd driven by the English team Kruse Motorsport had to compete with three Lolas, two last-generation B05/40s, and the B2K/40 winner in Le Mans 2004.

The French Le Mans-based manufacturer rapidly turned out to be the favourite. The C65 Judd (Kruse Motorsport) driven by Mitchell-Bennett- Primat became the leader as of the 5th lap, but encountered an engine incident during the 10th hour. The C65-AER (Miracle Motorsports), driven by Bucknum-McMurry-James, then became the new leader until the end of the race. This marks the second victory in two years for the team managed by John Macaluso: what a nice start for the 2005 season!

John Macaluso: "Incredible, isn't it? Who would have guessed that we would achieve a second victory in a row in this category? If we had not had this problem with the alternator, we probably would have finished 5th overall. I am quite happy with this victory in the LMP2 category!"

The two C65s have won the first two positions in their category, which means a first great victory in an American classical race for the French manufacturer, and also a first victory in Sebring for a French manufacturer.

Yves Courage is most happy with such victorious beginning of the 2005 season, and very much satisfied with the performances of the team' newly- born: the C65.

Yves Courage: "Sebring has a strong reputation of being a hard track; the two C65 chassis have once more proved very reliable and performing, and they have achieved the two first positions in their LMP2 category. Mazda US officially announced in Sebring that it would come back to car-racing with a Courage chassis driven by the American B-K Motorsport team: what else could we dream of? This week-end has been a wonderful week-end for us! "
